How Matrix Solutions compiles the Financial Adviser Top 100: The figures are based on responses to a co-ordinated campaign of emails sent to contacts in firms compiled from the previous year’s listing – a method used for each of the ten years of this survey. Matrix Solutions updates contacts where there is a change. The email contains a link to a five minute survey which is password protected so that the contact can access details from the previous years’ survey. After three week's worth of emails to the top 1000 people in the list, Matrix Solutions then focuses on the Top 150 in the list. Following further email reminders, any missing submissions are handed over to the Matrix Solutions research department which conducts individual one on one calls with the named contact, as well as identifying situations where the contact has changed. The figures in the list come from contacts in the companies which respond. These contacts bear the ultimate responsibility for accuracy. Finally, Matrix Solutions fills in any remaining gaps by using its Data Analysis department to research figures for those companies taken from their most recent company reports, submissions to Companies House and other publicly available information.
